The VP of Sponsorships Role
We are looking for a world-class VP of Sponsorships with at least 5-10 years of sales management experience, ideally in the tech and/or events sector, and a demonstrably successful track record. This role involves full ownership of the Sponsorship team, including the responsibility to structure, hire, and grow the business. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader who can significantly enhance our commercial capabilities and drive substantial business growth.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sponsorship strategy aligned with our business goals.
- Provide visionary leadership to the Sponsorship team, ensuring clear direction and motivation.
- Identify and target high-value sponsorship opportunities and potential partners.
- Sales Management:
- Drive the overall sponsorship sales process from prospecting to closing deals.
- Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets, contributing to significant business growth.
- Manage and nurture relationships with key sponsors, ensuring long-term partnerships and satisfaction.
- Team Development:
- Structure, hire, and lead a high-performing Sponsorship team.
- Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and professional development for team members.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team culture.
- Operational Excellence:
- Oversee the development of sponsorship packages, proposals, and contracts.
- Ensure effective execution of sponsorship deliverables and activations during events.
- Monitor and report on sponsorship performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Market Analysis & Innovation:
- Stay abreast of industry trends and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities.
- Innovate and enhance sponsorship offerings to maintain a competitive edge.
- Collaborate with marketing and event teams to maximize sponsorship visibility and impact.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of sales management experience, ideally in the tech and/or events sector.
- Demonstrably successful track record.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in structuring, hiring, and growing teams.
- Strategic thinker with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with high-level stakeholders.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
